Verb + 著

The particle 著 marks an action as ongoing or describes a continuous state, much like the '-ing' suffix in English. It is often used to establish background actions or describe how someone is doing something.

Cause and Effect: 因為... 所以...

因為 + Cause, 所以 + Effect

This paired conjunction links a cause to its effect. While English speakers usually drop 'so' when starting a sentence with 'because', Chinese commonly keeps both halves of the pair to clearly bridge the two ideas.
