Subject + 在 + Place + 上/裡

To express where someone or something is, Chinese uses the verb 在 (to be at) followed by a place, and often ends with a position word like 上 (on) or 裡 (in/inside).

Change of State with 了

Adjective / Verb + 了

The particle 了 placed at the end of a sentence often indicates a change of state or a new situation, showing that something is now different than it was before.
