Charlie Jane Anders

Charlie Jane Anders' 2016 novel All the Birds in the Sky was a national bestseller, praised by John Hodgman, Margaret Cho, Cory Doctorow, Felicia Day, and Lev Grossman, the latter of whom called it "a glorious synthesis of magic and technology, joy and sorrow, romance and wisdom. Unmissable.” Writing in the New York Times Book Review, N. K. Jemisin called it "as hopeful as it is hilarious, and highly recommended," while Michael Chabon compared it to The Lathe of Heaven, Cloud Atlas, and Little, Big. Earlier, Anders' debut novel Choir Boy (2005) won a Lambda Literary Award, and her Tor.com story “Six Months, Three Days” won the 2012 Hugo Award for Best Novelette. Her journalism and other writing has appeared in, among other venues, Salon, Mother Jones, McSweeney’s, and the Wall Street Journal. She was for many years the managing editor of the website io9. She lives in the San Francisco Bay area.
