Indicating Location with 在

Subject + 在 + Place (+ Verb)

The preposition 在 is used to indicate where someone or something is located, or where an action takes place.

李醫生和史船長在木房。Dr. Livesey and Captain Smollett are in the wooden house.

吉米在很多樹裡跑。Jimmy runs among many trees.

Change of State / New Situation with 了

Sentence + 了

Placing 了 at the end of a sentence can indicate that a new situation has emerged, a change of state has occurred, or an action has been completed.

吉米回來了。Jimmy has come back.

海盜不打木房了。The pirates are no longer attacking the wooden house.
